Overview:
These green beans grow well in a variety of conditions. Pods are 6″ long, straight and green, while the seeds are purple. This bean has excellence disease resistance and matures in 50 days!
Growing Instructions:
Sowing: Direct sow at least 1 week after the last frost in your area, since beans are sensitive to cold. Plant in rich, well drained soil(pH 6.0-6.8) with full sun exposure. Sow seeds 1″ deep and 3″ apart, in rows 2-3′ apart and press down the earth to ensure good soil contact. Green beans rot easily in wet soil so do not over water them. For companion planting, plant with carrots, corn, or cucumbers.
Germination: 7–10 days at 60–85°F.
Care: After germination, maintain soil moisture: beans have shallow roots, and need water at least once a week if the weather is dry. Mulching the plants will help conserve moisture and discourage weeds.
Harvest: 50–55 days. Pick when pods are firm and seeds are small.
