Overview:
Sweet, 6–7-inch cylindrical carrots, crisp texture, perfect for fresh eating or cooking.
Growing Instructions:
Sowing: Prepare soil 3 weeks before the last spring frost or when soil temperatures reach about 45°F. Keep the soil moist but don’t allow the area above the seeds to harden as this may prevent germination. Sow ¼ inch deep, 1–2 inches apart. For companion planting, plant with aromatic herbs or onions to repel carrot flies.
Germination: 10–20 days at 50–85°F.
Care: When seedlings reach 2-3″ high, thin plants to 2-4″ apart, depending on desired carrot size. Farther apart the carrots are, the bigger they will grow. Do not allow the soil to dry out. When the tops of the carrots begin to show, cover them with mulch to keep them tender.
Harvest: 65–75 days. Pull when roots are ½–1 inch in diameter.
