Overview:
A semi-leafless pea variety that grows to about 30″ tall and is self supporting. The pods are stringless, sweet, crisp, and mature in about 70 days.
Growing Instructions:
Sowing: Peas thrive in cold weather and do not transplant well, they should be planted outside 4-6 weeks before the last frost in your area or when average soil temperatures reach 40°F. If planting later, most peas won’t tolerate temperatures above 75°F. Plant peas 2″ apart and 2″ deep in light soil (pH 6.0-7.0) and full sun. For an early spring crop, plant in the same manner during the fall.
Germination: 7–14 days at 40–75°F.
Care: Pea plants need to be kept moist but not wet; after blooming, slightly increase the watering. Remove weeds carefully to avoid disturbing the plants, mulch may be helpful to conserve moisture and control weeds.
Harvest: 50–60 days. Pick when pods are plump but seeds are soft.
